This voltage converter accepts either an AC or DC input which is converted to a DC output. The output voltage is variable between 1.25 and 33 volts, note that the input voltage must be at least 2 volts higher than the required output voltage. The input voltage range is 3.5 to 35 volts. The unit has a peak output current of 1.5 amps, continuous current should not exceed 1.2 amps. The output is short circuit protected and has no need for a smoothing capacitor.
This voltage converter is ideal for converting an AC output on a model railway transformer to a usable DC supply.
These units can be supplied at a preset level of 3V, 5V, 9V or 12V by us if required, note that the voltage will be set using a 12 volt input and may need to be adjusted if the input voltage used is different (i.e. 5 volts). See the instructions for details on how to adjust the output voltage.
