18th Century Davenport desk in walnut
£62.99 PAST-03416The Davenport desk was named after Captain Davenport who ordered one from Gillow & Co furniture makers back in the 1700’s. The desk has a maroon leather lined sloping, lift up top, there are also 5 small opening drawers on the right-hand side of the pedestal support. The top of the desk has a small gallery for inkwells, pens, and pencils. The gallery surround is a serpentine shape with a centrally placed hand carved medallion in the back. The front legs are fluted whilst the desk apron is hand carved to match the medallion and is available in a walnut finish. -

The cornice is Chippendale style and the plinth is supported on small spade feet. The indented design around the cornice is reproduced around the plinth. -
