This Victorian arm chair has a serpentine, finger moulded, arched top rail around the carved centre medallion with a similar finger moulding rail around the front seat. The cabriole legs have small gold casters on the pad feet whilst the upholstered back of the arm chair is buttoned. There is also a complimentary sofa avaliable. -

Elizabethan drop leaf table
During the mid 19th century English furniture, in the domestic setting, was a symbol of status and wealth it was the decoration of the furniture that made furniture valuable.This period drop leaf table has turned baluster legs and square spreader bars for support. The table decoration is quite simple and limited to a simple recessed carving on both ends and on the front. The front panel also opens down to create an enclosed storage space under the table top in place of an under the table shelf. The sides of the table fold down so that the table can be stored in a small space. -

Fancy walnut buffet table
French Renaissance Two-Tiered Buffet extensively caved with a moulded serpentine shaped crown. The raised tier has two carved drawers with Fax brass handles. The bold plinth base moulding with Lions’ paws feet support the cabinet. Knights are depicted along with copious foliate motifs on the front of the 2 doors in the lower potion of the cabinet. The Serving display area in the middle of the cabinet is flanked on either by carvings of knights. -

Gentlemans striped Victorian armchair
Victorian gentleman’s armchair with and carved cabriole legs and splayed arms with small padded armrests . The exposed timber frame around the back of the chair is carved. The chair is upholstered in a striped velour fabric with a butterfly motif in gold on the seat. -

Hand painted oriental sewing table
Victorian Antique Japanned Work Table Sewing Box. During this period large and ornate sewing boxes were fashionable. Needlework was a popular pastime for dowager ladies and sometimes even the gentlemen. This needlework box highly decorated in the chinoiserie style is supported on a tall trestle table with Lyre shaped ends. The sides are cut in balancing cyma curves. It sits on 2 scroll cut cyma-curved bracket feet. The interior of the box has been divided into compartments of various sizes some with small lids that are fitted with a little brass knob so that they lift of to gain access to the needlework notions that are stored in the compartment. The lid of the box has been decorated with beautiful hand painted chinoiserie designs mostly they are in rounded sarcophagus shapes with very fine gold decoration depicting oriental scenes -

Jacobean 1620 era Walnut Chair
Following the style of a Farthingale chair, which had no arms, a low solid padded back; high-raised seat. The chair can be used as a dining chair or as a desk chair with the Davenport desk. Turned baluster legs at the front and plain ones at the rear. The front ones have been fluted which in that period would be called turning because of the method used to achieve the fluting. -
