Both the headboard and foot board of the bed are upholstered in a dark red buttoned leather. The four carved corner pillars are surmounted by an attractive spire topped with a finial set in a flower. The carving on the headboard is in open relief and depicts mainstream Gothic designs. The carving on the foot board mirrors those on the headboard. All of the woodwork is finished in walnut.
